We know that vetting costs can get really expensive, especially when the unexpected happens. Here are some financial resources that might help with covering these costs in a pinch:
The Pet Fund works on non-basic, non-urgent care. There are four categories of care:
1. Basic care (spay and neuter procedures, dental, vaccinations, etc.)
2. Non-basic, non-urgent care (cancer treatment, heart disease, etc.)
3. Urgent care (diagnostic testing, broken leg, etc.)
4. Emergency care (life-threatening injuries or illnesses)
RedRover provides financial assistance, resources and support to low-income individuals and survivors of domestic violence and their pets, so families can escape together and stay together. RedRover can assist you with:
Urgent Care Relief Grants: Financial assistance for lifesaving care
Domestic Violence Safe Escape Grants: Helping families and pets to safety
Domestic Violence Safe Housing Grants: Helping provide a safe space for pets in shelters
Fur Keeps can provide resources for affordable veterinary care, food, supplies and training support. Run by Carver Scott Humane Society, this organization also recognizes that surrendering a pet is unavoidable and offers help and resources for responsibly re-homing a pet. Fur Keeps offers 3 main programs:
Shelter Diversion: financial assistance for veterinary care, training expenses, rental deposits, and other pet-related needs.
Wilson’s Memorial Fund: emergency care financial resources
Food Shelf Support: CAP partnership with Dakota county to provide food assistance for families with pets.
Best Friends Animal Society has several different assistance programs and resources for all kinds of needs ranging from pet health, training, education and more.
