4 PITS SAKE RESCUE is a bully breed dog rescue located in the Twin Cities, Minnesota.
We build relationships with local shelters, our fellow rescue community, and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in an effort to create a better world for abandoned and/or homeless pets. In 2022 we stopped intake to continue our focus on training. We’ve worked with local shelter staff, local rescues and our fosters and adopters. We continue to maintain our focus on building a community of well-trained dogs by assisting their humans navigate the process of finding a professional trainer they can work with. We host training seminars annually for our adopters and fosters, and, upon request, other rescue organizations in our area.
While working with our fosters and adopters, we quickly learned that there was a huge hole in the rescue and rehoming process: training for the humans and the dogs in our care. Our team began working with professional trainers across the country to learn more about animal behavior and how to successfully work with dogs with behavioral issues. We saw things we can’t unsee… and it changed the trajectory of our rescue. While we still have two dogs in rescue, we know they are safest in their current home and will spend the rest of their lives with us.
We strive to build a fierce community of reliably trained dogs, especially our beloved bully breeds, and encourage all to seek professional training. All 4PSR team members are 100% volunteers. We are determined to keep administrative expenses extremely low so that virtually every dollar taken in goes directly to the care of the animals. Our monthly expenses are now limited to maintaining our database of adopters, volunteers, and fosters, as well as our website with resources for the public. All donations received are directed to our monthly/yearly expenses and rental space for seminars - our goal is to host them quarterly! We’d love to see you attend!
